Reviewer Help

Below are some answers to common questions about the reviewing process. If you are a TPC member, please see also: Review Assigner Help.

What are my responsibilities as a reviewer?

First, you are asked to respond to the review request (accept, refuse, or delegate). If you have a confict of interest (for example, if you work with the authors of the paper), you must refuse or delegate the review.

If you accept the review, you should read the paper thoroughly and answer the review questions as soon as possible. Finally, if you delegate your review, you should do so to a reviewer who is competent and has no conflicts of interest.

When is the reviewing deadline?

TrackChair does not automatically enforce review deadlines. The conference managers may announce a deadline for review submission on the conference home page, or by email to all reviewers.

If you do not meet the announced deadline, your review will not be counted. It is therefore best to submit your review as soon as possible.

How do I find my pending reviews?

Log into TrackChair, and visit your account dashboard. This page lists your reviews which have not yet been completed. Click the "Show" link of each review to continue with the reviewing process.

How do I find my other reviews?

When logged in to TrackChair, go to your account dashboard; click the "Dashboard" link in the green Account section of the action sidebar on the right of the page. From there, click on the "reviews" link in the first paragraph.

This page contains two lists: your pending reviews, and your completed reviews. Click on the "Show" link of each review to visit the reviews.

How do I read the paper manuscript?

First visit your review page. Then, click on the 'Manuscript' link in the orange "Actions" section of the sidebar on the right of the page.

How do I find out the authors' names?

You cannot, unless the authors have included them in the manuscript. TrackChair supports doubly-anonymous reviewing: the authors also cannot find out your name.

Will my comments be read by the authors?

Yes. All comments in your review can be read by conference managers and track chairs. Once the paper has been accepted or rejected, the authors of the paper will also be able to read your comments.

Reviews are anonymous: the authors cannot find out your name. You may therefore be completely honest with your comments.

How do I leave comments to the committee?

Please note that you can only leave comments to the committee after completing your review.

From your review page, click on the paper title. Scroll down to the bottom of the paper page, until you see the Comments section. To add a comment, simply type it into the text box, and click "Add comment".

Please separate paragraphs with blank lines. Web addresses in your comment will be made clickable. Your comment will have your name and the date and time presented underneath it.

Your comments will be readable only by conference managers, track chairs, and other reviewers. The authors will never be able to read these comments.
